 We offer two types of consulting services. If you have a problem with a single pest, from ants to yellowjacket wasps, take a look at our e-mail services. We can help diagnose the problem and send you practical, least-toxic solutions at very low cost. The efficiency of e-mail and your digital camera help us keep costs low.
If you need help planning a pest management program, conducting an educational workshop, product development research, or expert testimony we will gladly send you a proposal with estimated costs and a timeline. Below are listed some of the areas in which we can help commercial clients. Since we don't offer pest control services our recommendations are not biased toward finding problems where none may exist. I have over 20 years of university extension and research experience helping homeowners and commercial growers solve their pest management problems. My professional resume is posted here.

Commercial nurseries/speciality agriculture -- design of pest management plans; worker education workshops (Northwest USA)
Commercial nurseries and speciality agriculture often have a very low tolerance for insect and mite damage. I can help design pest management plans that minimize damage and, at the same time, preserve beneficial species. I work with ornamental nurseries, greenhouses, Christmas tree plantations and commercial mushroom production facilities. I can also conduct workshops about pest monitoring, pest identification, safe pesticide use and worker protection. I co-authored the PNW Insect Management Handbook between 1988 and 2004.

Commercial properties, school districts, parks -- design of pest management plans; consulting (Northwest USA)
Integrated pest management (ipm) is at the core for most modern approaches to pest management. I can help you design integrated pest management plans that take a least-toxic approach for structural and landscape pests. The central theme of these plans is to minimize the use of residual pesticides while still being highly effective. I can also design and help you implement pest management plans for specific pest problems.

Pest control product testing -- devices and chemicals
I conduct efficacy trials for pest management devices and agrichemicals. I prefer to work with highly innovative, small-medium size companies that are engaged in the development of products that emphasize a least-toxic and low environmental impact approach to pest management. I can assist with product development, evaluation, training and promotional materials.

Expert testimony -- all aspects of entomology
Insect biology, life cycles and property damage assessment in legal proceedings. This may include actual court testimony (written or in person) or simply background informaton.
